The Tokyo Location Box provides information to ensure safe and trouble-free
filming in Tokyo. We believe that introducing Tokyo to a wider audience
through movies and TV dramas leads to the promotion of the city and attracts
tourists from both home and abroad. We utilize location filming for the
purpose of supporting revitalization of local communities. You can find
location information for Tokyo on this website. If you need information
about filming in other parts of Japan, please visit the Japan Film Commission .

The Tokyo Location Box's services include: |

- introducing filming locations in Tokyo
Note: The location manager always has the final say on
matters related to
the filming location.
- liasing between film makers and location managers
- suggesting post-procuction, processing and recording facilities
- assisting with authorization procedure (such as with the police, fire brigade,
etc.)

We do not: |
|
- provide supporting actors (extras)
|
|
|
|
You will be expected to meet the conditions below while filming:
|
|
- observation of local ordinances and regulations
ensure their safety and to prevent possible nuisances while filming
- to be considerated to the local communities, and to take prior steps to
- refraining from singling out specific group based on religion, political
etc.
beliefs
- refraining from producing films that may damage the city of Tokyo's global
image
- refraining from undertaking filming that may cause offence or lead to public
disorder
- remaining within the remit agreed with the location manager

【- TCVB Tokyo Stock Footage -】
Free lending service to overseas organizations
On Monday, October 3rd, 2011, Tokyo Convention & Visitors Bureau(TCVB)
launched an exciting free lending service
to overseas media productions and travel agencies of its collection of
video stock footage* featuring 155 scenes of Tokyo, including tourist attractions, events, festivals,
food and entertainment. TCVB greatly
encourages the use of the footage to enhance and enrich travel programs,
promotion videos, and works set in Tokyo.
All 155 videos are available at
http://tokyo-footage.com/ (Tokyo Stock Footage). Visit the site and find out diverse tourism resources Tokyo has to offer.
*The videos are music and narration-free,
and comprise basic, undirected material to enable the user to edit and
process the footage freely.
